Today we hear from the Pulitze-Prize-winning author of The Color Purple, Alice Walker along with Marsha Norman who wrote the libretto for the musical The Color Purple, as it gets ready to take the stage at Playhouse Square. They discuss how the book went to the silver screen and then onto Broadway during this Master Moments educational program.

NOL Art Museum Call-In Show

Today Dee welcomes a trio of museum directors for a special call-in program about the role museums play in today's society. Joining Dee are Timothy Rub of the Cleveland Museum of Art, MOCA's Jill Snyder and Mitchell Kahan of the Akron Art Museum. This program is produced in partnership with Northern Ohio Live magazine.

Dee welcomes back Cleveland's favorite curmudgeon Harvey Pekar to talk about his new graphic novel "Students for a Democratic Society," tonight's broadcast of "Boppin' with Pekar" on WCPN at 11pm, and the return of American Splendor to comic store shelves next month.

Lisa See, Chris Jordan and Dance Works

Dee welcomes New York Times bestselling writer Lisa See who signs her latest novel "Peony in Love" at Joseph Beth Booksellers; focuses on the incredible images of photographer Chris Jordan, whose first solo museum exhibit is on view now at the Allen Memorial Art Museum in Oberlin; and gets in step with a few of the companies onstage for Cleveland Public Theater's Dance Works -- Inlet Dance Theatre, Morrison Dance, and Double-Edge Dance.

P.R. Miller, Alan Harris and Pride and Prejudice

Dee welcomes the"Grizzled Wizard" Akron's outsider artist P.R. Miller who's the artist-in-residence this year at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens; shares the sultry sounds of jazz crooner Allan Harris prior to his performance at Night Town; and opens the covers of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" coming the Cleveland Play House stage, while the PBS Masterpiece Jane Austen celebration continues on WVIZ.

History Boys, Holes and Alex Ross

Dee spotlights the adolescent actors in the new productions of The History Boys at the Beck Center and Holes at Karamu House. Plus, we share an archive interview with New Yorker classical music critic, Alex Ross, prior to his appearance at Case.

St. Patrick’s Day

Be sure to wear your finest green as we share a special St. Patrick's Day program, featuring some of our favorite interviews about the Emerald Isle. Dee uncovers the Irish American Archives at the Western Reserve Historical Society with Dennis Dooley. Ideastream's Kevin McGinty shares stories of his homeland across the pond. Local performance poet Ray McNiece regales us with a poem inspired by his own Irish heritage. Former Great Lakes Theater Festival artistic director, Vincent Dowling, talks about his time at the Abbey Theater in Dublin. Plus we showcase musical performances by Irish chanteuse Karan Casey, local Irish troubadours the New Barleycorn and Cleveland's Pogues cover band The Boys from the County Hell.

Today Dee enters the world of the late folk artist Reverend Albert Wagner, as she talks with the principals behind the documentary about his life - One Bad Cat - onscreen at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Plus, she takes a retreat in the Ozarks with writer William Claassen as he shares the story about his new memoir Another World.
