Canton may evoke images of China to some but currently there is a wealth of Japanese culture on display in this northeast Ohio city better known as the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  There’s an exhibit that has just opened this week at the Canton Museum of Art called, “Kimono As Art - Land Of Ichiku Kubota,” running through April 26th 2009.  Over thirty Japanese Kimonos are on display in a show that tours only two American cities, the other being San Diego, CA.

As an addendum to this event, pianists Bob James and Keiko Matsui will present their Four Hands concert on Saturday, February 14th at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee, February 15th, beginning at 3 p.m.  The show takes place at Cable Recital Hall at the Canton Museum of Arts Cultural Center.
