On the heels of his highly praised recording A Tale of God’s Will, trumpeter Terence Blanchard wanted to continue exploring some of the issues he raised on the date, especially those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Blanchard wrote a series of pieces and interspersed a conversation he had with the esteemed educator and writer Cornel West about the issue of choices, how we make them and how those decisions shape the path we take, as individuals, artists and citizens. Blanchard discussed the new recording titled Choices with ideastream’s Dan Polletta, as well as a number of other issues.
