Miami University Snuffs Out Smoking On Its Campuses

The only exceptions are that smoking will be allowed in cars and some hotel areas. Current restrictions prohibit smoking inside or within 25 feet of most campus buildings. The expanded ban will cover the main campus in Oxford and branches in Hamilton and Middletown. A university spokeswoman says the ban will benefit campus because smoking has many negative health effects. But senior Eric Dunigan says he thinks students who smoke will have difficulty adjusting.
