A judge today is expected to name a replacement for Sherriff Gerald McFaul, who announced he's stepping down.

Yesterday, Ohio law enforcement officials collected computer files and documents from the sheriff’s office as part of a probe into whether employees engaged in illegal campaign fundraising for 74-year-old McFaul, who will retire April first.

County Commissioner Tim Hagan says an interim sheriff will be announced this afternoon by Cuyahoga County’s top judge, Nancy McDonnell.

The Democratic party will have 45 days to choose a longer-term replacement.
