New Study Offers Insight Into Cause of Autism

Across the country, about 1 in 110 children is believed to fit somewhere on the autistic spectrum. For boys it's even higher, 1 in 70. With staggering statistics like that, researchers are trying to learn more about what causes autism. At the Cleveland Clinic, scientists used MRI technology to look at a part of the brain called the corpus callosum, a structure that helps the two halves of the brain communicate. Thomas Frazier is with the Cleveland Clinic's Center for Pediatric Behavioral Health. He spoke with ideastream®'s Eric Wellman about his findings.
