Environmentalists and social justice advocates will gather at Cleveland State University this weekend as part of a "bioneers" conference - so named for the founding group's holistic and forward-thinking philosophy. ideastream's Kymberli Hagelberg has more.
Cleveland State is one of 18 locations across the country that will host the three-day conference aimed at bringing together different professions to build stronger people and a stronger world. The event covers everything from environmentally sound science and business, excercise, building sustainable neighborhoods and providing healthy food for yourself and your family. Organizer Nancy King Smith said the strength of the Bioneers movement is that sense that everything is connected.
Bioneers Cleveland workshops begin today (Friday) at 9 a.m. For more information you can google “Bioneers Cleveland”.
Portions of the California bioneers event will be beamed into CSU. There’s also local tours of sustainable neighborhoods and a Saturday night concert of homegrown folk music at ideastream’s Westfield Insurance studio theatre.
