It looks like voters in Cuyahoga County who want to vote by mail in the March 4th primary will set a new record. ideastream politics reporter Kymberli Hagelberg has details.
As of Friday, the board had received more than 60,000 applications for vote by mail ballots—and they’re receiving about 2,000 completed applications each day. Voters can ask for either a Republican or Democratic primary ballot no matter which party they may have registered in.
County Board of Elections director Jane Platten says voting by mail will help speed the process on Election Day.
Platten: “We’ve really been talking to the community about voting by mail, and encouraging people to do so in order to avoid long lines at the polls.”
To vote by mail you still have to be registered and the deadline for that is tonight at 9pm.
