Legislation has been introduced in Columbus called a Health Freedom bill that seeks to protect people who provide naturopathic care; it's aim is to protect non-licensed practitioners of alternative medicine defining what unlicensed practitioners cannot do and remove the threat of prosecution for providing such services as nutrition counseling.

Governor Taft's proposed budget would freeze the amount of tax money sent back to local communities and make cuts next year. Among those that could be hit under the proposal are local libraries.
