How far should the state go in protecting us from sexual predators? One lawmaker proposes special electric pink license plates for the cars of sexual predators. We'll debate that and other methods used to keep the public informed of the whereabouts of people legally labeled sexual predators. We'll also talk with specialists trained in treating sexual offenders so they're no longer a danger to themselves and others.

Man vs. nature. Deer get shot in Solon because they're eating the landscaping and dodging traffic. The Metroparks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park prepare to thin out their deer herds. One constant in that debate is the assertion that man is encroaching on the animals' habitat, and we need to make allowances for them. To which a skeptic might respond, "sez who?" It's a philosophical debate that we intend to engage.

Medical Marijuana: the supreme court rules that the feds can prosecute citizens who follow state law that allows limited use of medical marijuana. Why? Because federal law says marijuana is illegal at all times, regardless of the state laws. Eleven states have medical marijuana laws and they're now rethinking their positions. In addition, a bill that would allow doctors to prescribe marijuana for some patients has been introduced in the Legislature.
