Congress has approved a nearly $300 billion transportation funding bill that will provide money for some key projects right here in river city. $106 million will go to the Innerbelt bridge project. Get set for an expansion of Daylight Saving Time. As part of the new energy bill, Congress has voted to begin DST in March and end it in early November starting in 2007. It might be called Energy Saving Time. Experts figure adjusting the time to fit the hours people are up and most active will save a substantial amount of energy because we won't use lights as much. In addition, experts say there are demonstrable benefits in terms of traffic safety. We'll talk about it with MIT researcher Dr. David Prerau, the world's leading expert on Daylight Saving Time and take your questions. Dr. Prerau is the author of the new book, Seize the Daylight, The Curious and Contentious Story of Daylight Saving Time.
