By this time next year, Cuyahoga County will be just weeks into an entirely new form of government: an executive and council which will replace the current county commissioners and most other county-wide elected offices. It's a transition that some say will create the second most powerful officeholder in the state, and those leading it have already called for a 15 percent spending cut and engaged a thousand volunteers to help flesh out the change. Tuesday morning at 9 join host Dan Moulthrop for a conversation with some of those steering the biggest local government overhaul in the state's history.

Guests

James McCafferty county adminstrator and co-chair of the Transition Advisory Group
Martin Zanotti former Mayor of Parma Heights and member of Transition Executive Committee
Dr. Stephen Brooks Associate Director, Bliss Institute of Applied Politics; Associate Professor of Political Science, University of Akron

Additional Information

Codes of ethics often refer to avoidance of the appearance of conflicts of interest. While it remains to be seen whether the committees would be bound by Sunshine laws, don’t you think it would be highly advisable to follow them?

Could you also tell us who is or is being considered as chair of the committee addressing the code of ethics and campaign financing? I have heard it is County Prosecutor Bill Mason. Is this true?

Shalom Dan,

I’d really like to know who died and made these two Kings Of The County Reform Process.

We’re going to hold an election this year and nothing, absolutely nothing should be decided before the elected officials have the opportunity to make those decisions.

Today’s show was a real skidmark moment.

B’shalom,
