You’ve probably noticed the word ideastream being used often on 90.3 WCPN® and WVIZ/PBS. That’s because it’s the new name of the company that was formed when the two public broadcasting stations created a new organization to serve Northeast Ohio with distinctive, thought-provoking programming and services.

As the two stations work together as one company, the familiar names you know from 90.3 WCPN will become familiar faces appearing on WVIZ/PBS. Likewise, you’ll be hearing WVIZ/PBS staff on 90.3 WCPN. This already has been the case on several recent projects including participation in Cleveland’s multi-media series “A Quiet Crisis.” This series focused on a variety of issues area residents are concerned about, such as our schools, and the economy.

In “The Listening Project,” another collaborative effort of ideastream, employees from ideastream teamed up to find out what Northeast Ohioans think about the region and how the public stations can help improve life here. Programming is being developed from these “town hall” type meetings the stations conducted. That programming will address a variety of listener and viewer concerns and input.

Listen to 90.3 WCPN, watch WVIZ/PBS and logon to wcpn.org and wviz.org for all the new, exciting programs and services we’re working on. Watch this area for press releases about all our upcoming programs and projects. And, let us know how you think we can better serve the Northeast Ohio area.
