| Rock
and roll is a tricky business - often times, a young band gets signed
to its first record deal on a major label, enjoys a few hits, and
then is never heard from again. But what happens when an experienced
band with over ten years worth of albums to its credit finally lands
a major label deal? This is the situation facing England's Porcupine
Tree, a band releasing its first major label album with Atlantic Records,
titled In Absentia. The band plays Thursday evening at the
Agora in Cleveland. Steven Wilson and John Wesley from Porcupine
Tree performed live in-studio at WCPN, Thursday, July 24, during the
Around Noon broadcast. To read an interview WCPN's Chris
Boros conducted with Steven Wilson last fall, click
