Caregivers will be the focus of a special 3-hour program
broadcast by WVIZ/PBS on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 from 8-11pm. (Repeats
on Sunday, October 13 at 3pm) And Thou Shalt Honor uses
stories of caregivers throughout the US to discuss issues of caring for
the elderly and the importance of caring for the caregiver. Read

Advances in medical technology have made it possible for
individuals to survive for years with chronic conditions that would have
made for a rapid death just a few years ago. Though laudable, this has
created a new population of persons in need of caregiving... and, therefore,
a new population of caregivers. This program will highlight the challenges
of this new dynamic.
WVIZ/PBS
will supplement the national program by integrating interviews with local
professionals into the national program. A 30-minute call-in (simulcast
on 90.3 WCPN) will give audience members the opportunity to speak with
experts. This combination of local and national programming will connect
the caregiving community with answers and solutions to a growing problem.
If you are among the millions of Americans affected by the caregiving
revolution, the program is a “must view”.
