Students Teach and Learn Peace

About 300 exchange students from predominantly Muslim countries come to American high schools every year to participate in a peace mission between governments. Kartika Nurahayati took on that important task this year. She and her Shaker Heights host family talked about the experience with ideastream®'s Kymberli Hagelberg.

Sherwin-Williams Wins

A big victory for Cleveland-based paint-maker Sherwin-Williams Tuesday. Rhode Island's Surpeme Court has overturned a 2006 decision that found the paint-maker liable under public nuisance laws for health problems stemming from lead paint in homes. ideastream®'s Dan Bobkoff reports.

State lawmakers and education leaders say high-tech businesses are blooming, so it's time to focus on educating kids in science, technology, engineering and math - otherwise known as the STEM curriculum. But advocates for the arts, social studies and other courses say the classes shouldn't be cut to give STEM room to grow. Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler has the conclusion of a two-part report.
