This fall, it’s all about the election and the economy. You are invited to join the conversation as Kai Ryssdal, host of the public radio series Marketplace, talks about how the way we vote affects everything from Wall Street to your street and takes your questions. The September 25th visit marks the first time that Ryssdal has been to Cleveland on behalf of 90.3 WCPN.  While here, plans call for that day’s national broadcast of Marketplace to originate from Cleveland and the 90.3 WCPN studios.

Ticket Information
Tickets, which include a post-presentation dessert reception with Ryssdal, are $75 each. A limited number of tickets are available for the presentation only at $35 per person. Directions to the Idea Center™ are located here.

About Kai Ryssdal
Kai Ryssdal took the reins as host of Marketplace in August, 2005.  He previously hosted the Marketplace Morning Report for more than four years.  Before joining the program, Ryssdal was a reporter and substitute host for The California Report, a news and information program distributed to public radio stations throughout California. His radio work has won first place awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and the national Public Radio News Directors Association.

After graduating from Emory University in Atlanta, Ryssdal spent eight years in the United States Navy, first flying from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, and then as a Pentagon staff officer.  Before his career in public radio, he was a member of the United States Foreign Service and served in Ottawa, Canada and Beijing, China.
