Ingenuity Fest 2008

Idea Center will host the innovative and interactive Family Village as the Ingenuity Festival returns to PlayhouseSquare and Idea Center July 25- 27 with a dazzling array of performers, artists, musicians and displays. Family Village will occupy two full floors in the Idea Center where children can view performances, create their own intersection of art and technology and attend workshops on everything from 3-D games to robotics.

Performances such as: the room-sized ATLAS in Silico -- in which participants’ movements trigger a life-size video screen inspired by the ocean floor and musical artist Angelin Chang -- a unique exhibition integrating music, visual arts and digital media-- will run throughout the weekend.

Kids and parents alike can walk through a virtual maze -- Metafield Maze -- a room sized recreation of traditional marble labyrinth game. They can experience the latest in space flight on the NASA Glenn Research Center’s Graphics Visualization lab’s incredible Mars Airplane Flight Simulator.

Meet and interact with Zeno Robokind, the 17-inch robot -- he’s short, but smart and cool.

And attend a myriad of workshops on origami, kite making, instrument creation, 3-D games, animation and model trains.

It’s an amazing weekend of creativity and innovation with friendly instruction and supervision from experts. Ingenuity’s Family Village is a comfortable, safe and engaging place for families to explore their own connections with art and technology.
