If you ask a child how was your day at school? You can probably expect a one word answer. "good" or "fine." But psychologist Adam Cox says it doesn't have to be that way. His latest book is called Boys of Few Words. Cox says the advice in his book applies to both genders, but it's boys who often have more trouble communicating their feelings or showing empathy. He found some time to drop by our studios at the ideacenter at PlayHouse Square.

New Report Shows School Lunch Programs Under-Utilized

A new report by the Children's Hunger Alliance shows more than 90 percent of Ohio's low income kids don't participate in summer lunch programs. And more than 63 percent of low income kids are not getting breakfast at school. The group's Kim Wisecup says the more meals children must eat at home, the more likely children will go hungry because of their family's tight food budget. Wisecup wants more schools and community groups to participate in food programs for low income children. She's also hoping Ohioans will donate food and money to local food pantries.

That daunting statistic was the basis of a forum in Cleveland Tuesday, in which politicians and residents discussed ways to stem the illegal weapons market known as the "iron pipeline, which they say has become both a crime and public health problem nationwide. ideastream®'s Kymberli Hagelberg reports.
