The latest installment in the A QUIET CRISIS series, A QUIET CRISIS: Young Leaders focuses on the new generation of community leadership that is emerging and expanding in Northeast Ohio. The program examines the personalities and roles of a number of young professionals: who they are, and how they compare with the current leaders and their predecessors.

A QUIET CRISIS: Young Leaders will be simulcast on WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN ideastream Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. The broadcast will repeat on WVIZ/PBS Friday, April 25 at 11 p.m. and Monday, April 28 at 11 p.m., and on 90.3 WCPN, Wednesday, April 30 at 8 p.m. A five minute feature segment will also air on 90.3 WCPN during the Morning News, Thursday, April 24. Special coverage will appear in the Sunday April 27 Forum section of the Plain Dealer.

The ideastream programs and Plain Dealer Forum article will feature a panel of young leaders from Northeast Ohio discussing the importance of leadership in the 21st century: how they are tackling the region’s economic, educational and environmental challenges, the differences and similarities in their leadership styles, and their personal interests and professional influences. The program will also explore the future of young leadership in the region and how it compares to other cities.

The panelists include: Randell McShepard, Director of Community Affairs, RPM, Inc.; Jeasung Jay Yoo, Chief Mobility Officer, Koyono; Lillian Kuri, Executive Director, Cleveland Public Art; Sadhu Johnston, Executive Director, Cleveland Green Building Coalition; Jacqueline Acho, Partner, McKinsey & Company; Jose Gonzalez, Director of Diversity at St. Ignatius High School and Tracey Kirksey, Executive Director, Glenville Development Corporation. Dave Pignanelli, Director of News and Information for ideastream will host the program. Joe Frolik, Associate Editor of The Plain Dealer, will moderate the panel discussion.

The discussion will continue with a different panel of young, local leaders on Feagler and Friends airing Friday, April 25 at 8:30 p.m. (Repeats Sunday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m.)

Young Leaders is the ninth installment in A QUIET CRISIS series, an ongoing, multimedia project involving WVIZ/PBS, 90.3 WCPN and The Plain Dealer. Its goal is to better inform viewers, listeners and readers about how the region’s economy affects their lives.
